Terms of Service

By accessing and using Rental Auto, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Rental Auto is a vehicle rental marketplace founded in Albania that connects vehicle owners (hosts) with renters (customers) across multiple vehicle categories including cars, motorcycles, trucks, RVs, boats, and bicycles.

We facilitate bookings and provide the platform infrastructure, but we are not a party to the rental agreement between hosts and customers.

We provide the platform, customer support, booking management services, and secure online card payment processing through Stripe where a host has enabled online payments.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time.

To use certain features, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

Email verification is required before you can create booking requests or become a host. You will receive a verification email upon registration.

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

Guests can browse vehicles without an account, but must register to create bookings.

Bookings are subject to host approval and availability. All booking requests start with a 'pending' status until the host confirms or rejects them.

Email verification is mandatory before creating booking requests. Unverified users will see warning banners and booking forms will be disabled.

Customers must provide accurate booking information including name, email, phone number, age, pickup/dropoff locations, and rental dates.

Hosts can manually create bookings for customers, including guest bookings for users without platform accounts.

Cash booking status workflow: pending → confirmed → active → completed. Card bookings are confirmed automatically and immediately after successful online payment.

Hosts are responsible for ensuring their vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and accurately described.

Both parties must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

We facilitate the booking process but are not responsible for the condition of vehicles or the conduct of users.

Total price is calculated based on daily rate multiplied by rental days. Hosts set their own pricing.

Bookings may be automatically cancelled by the system if a Stripe checkout session is abandoned without payment, or if a host does not respond within the allowed confirmation window. Both parties are notified when a booking is automatically cancelled.

5.1 Payment Methods: Rental Auto supports two payment methods: cash at pickup and online payment by card where available.

a) Cash at Pickup: Payment is made directly to the host in cash at the time of vehicle pickup. The host will confirm your booking request manually before pickup.

b) Online Payment by Card (where available): Some hosts offer secure online payment via credit or debit card, processed by Stripe. When available, online payment is recommended because your booking is confirmed immediately upon successful payment.

Online payment availability is determined by each individual host and is shown clearly on the vehicle listing page.

5.2 Online Payment Processing: Card payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. Rental Auto does not store your card details. By completing an online payment you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service (stripe.com/legal).

5.3 Booking Confirmation: Cash bookings are confirmed manually by the host within their stated response time. Card bookings are confirmed automatically and immediately upon successful payment.

5.4 Pricing: Hosts set their own rental price. The total shown at checkout is the final rental amount — Rental Auto does not add hidden fees at checkout. The platform applies a service fee to hosts for each completed booking according to our published host terms.

5.5 Security Deposit: Some hosts may require a cash security deposit at pickup, separate from the rental fee. If applicable, this is shown on the vehicle listing before you book.

You are responsible for any additional charges agreed with the host (fuel, tolls, damages, cleaning fees, etc.) as specified in the rental agreement between you and the host.

Each host selects one of the following cancellation policies for their listing. The applicable policy is shown clearly before you confirm your booking.

Flexible policy: 100% refund if cancelled 48+ hours before pickup. No refund if cancelled within 48 hours.

Moderate policy: 100% refund if cancelled 7+ days before pickup. 50% refund if cancelled 2–7 days before pickup. No refund within 48 hours of pickup.

Strict policy: No refund at any time.

Card (online) bookings additionally follow an online-specific policy: 100% refund if cancelled 7+ days before pickup; 50% refund if cancelled 2–7 days before; no refund within 48 hours of pickup.

6.1 Cash Bookings: No online refund applies to cash bookings as no online payment was taken. Refund arrangements are agreed directly between you and the host.

6.2 Card Refunds: Approved refunds for card payments are processed via Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

6.3 Host Cancellation: If a host cancels a confirmed card booking, you will receive a full refund via Stripe within 5–10 business days.

6.4 Disputes: For payment disputes contact support@rental-auto.com with your booking reference number.

We reserve the right to cancel bookings in cases of fraud, safety concerns, or violation of these Terms.

Stripe, Inc. — Payment processing for online card transactions. Stripe processes payment card data on our behalf and is PCI-DSS compliant.

Data shared with Stripe may include payment card details, billing information, booking reference, and booking amount. Rental Auto receives payment confirmation and limited payment method information for booking records.

Rental Auto acts as an intermediary platform and is not responsible for:

• Vehicle condition, safety, or roadworthiness

• Accidents, injuries, or damages during rentals

• Disputes between hosts and customers

• Loss or theft of personal property

• Third-party services or products

Our liability is limited to the amount of fees we have received from you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for illegal purposes or in violation of any laws

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information

• Impersonate others or create fake accounts

• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

• Damage or misuse vehicles

• Circumvent our fees or payment system

• Use automated systems to access the platform without authorization

• Violate intellectual property rights

• Interfere with platform operations or security

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for violation of these terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania.

Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or use of the platform shall be submitted to the courts of Tirana, Albania, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time.

Material changes will be notified via email or platform notification with at least 30 days' notice.

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
