Most Vlorë hosts offer pickup near the Lungomare (seafront boulevard) or the city center. If you're driving from Tirana, allow 2h 30 min for the 158 km trip south via SH4 and the A3 motorway. Pickup near the Porto Marina area is the most convenient starting point if you're heading straight to coastal destinations.
Driving & parking
The SH8 road from Vlorë toward Llogara Pass and Dhermi is scenic but winding — allow 45 min for the 33 km mountain climb. Road quality is good but lanes are narrow in places; avoid driving it after dark if you're unfamiliar with mountain roads. Parking in Vlorë center is free along most side streets.

Best time to visit
Peak season is June–August. The Llogara road can back up in August afternoons when tour coaches move through. For Riviera driving, May and September are significantly better — lighter traffic, easier coastal parking, and the sea is still warm enough for swimming.
